Lion Barry has been in Lions for twenty years and has never forgotten the vision for the future. He has been President of his club, Santa Rosa Host Lions, three times and each time initiated a new program to help the club and the district. In 2005 and 06, he helped set up the Vision Center which now serves about 4000 patients a year. For this, he was named District Lion of the Year. He also is President of the Redwood Lions Memorial Foundation, which as Lions owns the Earle Baum Center for the Visually Impaired. As a board member, he can facilitate where the funds from Lions go to help the visually impaired. Coming from a small community in Eagle River, Ontario, Canada, he lived and observed the hardships that many endured. Fortunately, he was able to go to San Francisco State University, majoring in Business. The best part of that, he met his wife, Roxanne, and after nearly fifty years has two great daughters and four grandchildren. Lion Barry will keep pursuing the Lions Vision for the Future and hope all Lions will explore the opportunities we have ahead of us. We are now working on a three year program that, when fully implemented, will bring success for our district and with all your help will make life easier for many thousands in our district.
